This Paper Sculpture workshop was realized in collaboration with North West CDC and Fuchun Sec. Sch. Students from Fuchun Sec. were introduced to simple Paper Sculpture techniques before they teach and coach old folks from Christalite Methodist Home at Marsiling Drive in creating work from this craft.

Teachers' Art Workshops (Mid-year/Season I 2014)
Paper
Sculpture (Relief/3D)
Teachers will be introduced to Paper Sculpture in relief and 3D forms. Work will be formed in 3D effects using layering techniques with various types of fancy paper and cardboards. Contextual reference would be made to work by Helen Musslewhite and Calvin Nicholls.

Print Making
(Linoprint)
Teachers will be introduced to Print Making using Lino-cut technique with reference to work by artists such as Joan Miro and Angie Lewin. They will experience cutting and carving of Linoleum with printing of work in duo colours realizing several prints.

Mixed Media
Painting
Teachers will be exposed to mixed media with various materials used in forming work on theme of Nature/Landscapes. Reference to local context is adopted with case studies of work done by Thomas Yeo and Goh Beng Kwan introduced. Finalwork will be realized with perspectives formed in overlapping techniques.

Recycled Art
Teachers will be exposed to Recycled Art in 3D and semi-3D forms with reference
to work by Frank Stella and Robert Bradford. They will experiment with form,
texture and depth using various recycled materials in creating sculptural
structures of animals/creatures or semi-abstract forms.

Pop Art Courses for Youth with National Library Board (NLB)

Programmes 2014
In these courses, participants will be exposed to the contextual background, style and characteristics of Pop Art. They will also experience the making of Pop Art with use of appropriate media and references to Pop artists’ work. Some of the artists introduced are Richard Hamilton, Andy Warhol, Feng Zhengjie, Luo Brothers and Justin Lee (local). For hands-on, students will explore local and Asian icons in producing Pop artwork rendered in collage mixed media. Upon completion, they will present their work with reflection on Pop Art genre and the making process.
