Paper Mache Figurines (P3)

Haig Girls' School

Pupils learned to make figurines from Paper Mache with theme of Imaginative Animals in this course. Finalwork are painted in Pop Art style with application of brilliant colours and whimsical patterns.

Cubist Portraits (P4)

Griffiths Primary School

Pupils were introduced to Cubism with reference to work by Picasso and Braque in this course. Their work are pieced up interestingly with Cubist techniques in Collage Mixed Media.

Pop-Cubism (Art Club)

Tanjong Katong Girls' School

The girls learned to combine techniques and characteristics of both Pop and Cubist Art in this course. They worked on theme of Faces for their finalwork with reference to Romero Britto's work.





Paper Sculpture (Entrepreneur Club)

Bukit Merah Secondary School

In this course, students utilise Paper Sculpture techniques to produce pop-out cards, display Artwork. They work on themes of Flowers and Animals for their compositions.








Paper Sculpture (Art Club)

St Anthony's Canossian Primary School

Pupils explored various Paper Sculpture techniques before working on theme of 'Animals' to compose their finalwork.

Mixed Media Painting (Nature)


















- Teachers will be exposed to mixed media with various materials used in forming work on theme of nature. Reference to local context is adopted with case studies of work done by Thomas Yeo and Goh Beng Kwan introduced.

Fashion Illustration (in Alternative Media)






















- Teachers will be introduced to creative fashion illustration with reference to case-studies of famous fashion houses such as Issey Miyake, Victor & Rolf and Alexander McQueen for their creations. They will experience making of fashion plates representing their designs in alternative media.

Introduction to Paper Sculpture




















- Teachers will be introduced to Paper Sculpture forming semi-3D sculptural work by using various types of fancy paper. Contextual reference would be made to work by Helen Musslewhite and Jeff Nishinaka. Exploration of Depth in work would be effected using layering techniques.

Relief Art in Mixed Media













- Teachers will be introduced to Relief Art in Mixed Media using various recycled materials. Contextual reference will be made to semi-3D work created by Frank Stella. Finalwork will be realized with NE theme on Peranakan Houses.

Pop Art Made Easy















- Teachers will be exposed to the contextual background, style and characteristics of Pop Art with introduction of both international and local case-studies. Work by Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Justin Lee and Luo brothers will be referred. They will experience making of Pop Art with use of ‘made-easy’ materials and resources in Collage form.
